Robin Team

Managing Partner

Robin is a respected leader in the real estate industry across North Carolina, in reputation and business practice, with a 30-year history of development and investment syndication. Robin alone has developed or acquired nearly $500 million in income-producing assets and holds a current portfolio of active ownership and/or management of over $350 million in assets. Robin’s expertise includes institutional-style office, health care and industrial assets with clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to local business owners. A native of Lexington, North Carolina, Robin is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a degree in Business Administration.

Matt McInnis


Matt has spent over 10 years in the banking and wealth management sectors. To start his career, Matt worked for SunTrust Bank in Washington, DC where he gained valuable experience consulting executives and business owners while lending to middle market companies across all industries. Prior to joining Front Street Capital, Matt successfully led the sell side process of a $141 million transaction in his capacity as Chief Strategy Officer for High Point Bank and Trust Company. Matt graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a dual degree in Economics and Management and Society and received an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Jennie Smith

Director, Investor Services

Jennie brings a wealth of experience in client and investor relations to Front Street Capital. After working at Corporate Executive Board (CEB) in Arlington, Virginia, she joined Global Endowment Management (GEM), an outsourced Chief Investment Office for university and foundation endowments based in Charlotte, North Carolina. At GEM, Jennie was a member of the Investor Services team responsible for managing client relationships representing over $7 billion in assets under management. Jennie received a Bachelor of Science degree from Davidson College, where she was a Davidson Scholar. She played field hockey for the Wildcats and served as captain of the 2010 team.

Jonathan Starnes


Jonathan provides a wealth of knowledge and experience in the asset management, financial, IT, and construction fields. With Carolina Investment Properties, Jonathan has overseen the management of over 3 million square feet of industrial and office space. Prior to joining Carolina Investment Properties, Jonathan gained valuable experience as a Project Manager, Project Controller and Financial Consultant for Wachovia Corporation in Winston -Salem, North Carolina. Prior to his employment with Wachovia, Jonathan successfully managed a company offering financial and strategic consulting for small businesses. He holds a Business Administration degree from the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Lori Starnes

Director of Real Estate Services

Lori brings extensive industry experience to Front Street Capital, leading the execution of asset management services. Prior to joining the firm, Lori was the Director of Asset Services for CBRE Triad, where she oversaw a team responsible for over 5 million square feet of office, industrial and retail assignments. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience as a Real Estate Manager and Leasing Agent for FRI Investors, managing a portfolio of 815,000 square feet of office and industrial space. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Asset Director and Real Estate Manager for Highwoods Properties Triad Division. Lori graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Alston Team


Alston has 10 years of experience in the real estate industry in the development and project management of industrial and office assets. Alston started his development career in Newport Beach, CA with LNR Commercial Property Group. There he was on a project management team developing a master planned 2,400 acre industrial park in the Inland Empire of California. Alston focused his efforts in the underwriting, planning, and both horizontal and vertical development of the park. Then transitioning back to his North Carolina roots, he joined Carolina Investment Properties as a Project Manager and has overseen the construction of roughly 1.5 million square feet of office and industrial development. Alston graduated from Elon University with a degree in Business Administration.

Coleman Team


Coleman has spent his entire career as a real estate entrepreneur starting several businesses in the brokerage, development and investment practices of commercial real estate. Diverse industry experience benefits Coleman as a portfolio manager with various roles for FSC including raising capital, deal sourcing, structure and analysis of transactions and investor relations. In the last five years, Coleman has participated in over $400 million in transactions that span every asset class in commercial real estate. Coleman holds a bachelor of science degree from the Wake Forest University Schools of Business and has also completed Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program for Real Estate Management.
